“The Freedom to Choose”- Life Skills and Self-Defense Workshop for Women
The workshops, specially designed with the unique needs of women in mind, place an emphasis on connecting with a woman’s natural resources of strength and provide a genuine opportunity for personal growth in all areas of life.
The workshops aim to provide a response to violence, already at the level of the threat of a possible attack. Classes are designed to increase women’s self-confidence, to remove their feelings of helplessness, and to empower them to take measures to increase their sense of freedom and safety.
The goal is to teach participants as wide a range of skills as possible, from which they will then be able to draw in time of need. To this end, the workshops offer much more than merely the acquisition of physical skills. Also included is information and skills for identifying warning signs, as well as the use of verbal methods as a means for avoiding attacks, and even halting them in their very earliest stages.
The course focuses on three main areas:
1. The raising of awareness of dangerous situations and the provision of up-to-date statistics: what is an attack, harassment, who is a potential attacker, what are the attacker’s weak points.
